Warbirds Of North America was founded to restore various military aircraft that made a contribution to the history of freedom. We have identified and acquired a documented military aircraft retired from US service. The first step has been completed with the purchase of a 1957 North American Trojan T28C. We are dedicated to preserving and presenting to the public operational examples of historic aircraft while honoring the pilots and their crew. When restoration is complete, we will participate in air shows throughout the United States by demonstrating typical military training and combat maneuvers specific to the airplane. While on static display, air show attendees will be able to observe the aircraft closely, view a documentary, and ask questions of the staff. Veteran pilots will be invited to discuss their personal experiences as pilots of US “warbirds.” It is our goal to create an atmosphere in which interested participants will have a “real to life” experience of wartime aviation. We will have trained pilots to perform wartime reenactments at air shows across the country. We will also develop a documentary featuring interviews with war veterans’ first hand accounts of the plane in action. Vintage photos, when available, will be included for a complete documentation of the restoration process. We also have plans to have knowledgeable docents on hand at air shows to personally answer questions and to demonstrate flight equipment on the ground.
